माहौल kya hai?
Step into an Indian place where music lives, with the banger already playing.
In India, music memory is location-coded, not genre-coded. Nobody says "90s dance-pop". They say truck wale gaane, bus wale gaane, shaadi DJ wale gaane. MAHAUL turns each of those places into a scene you step into: a painting, and the music that belongs there, already playing.
There is no landing page, because the site is the street. There is no search box, no library and no login, because of the single rule everything here is measured against: the user never thinks.

Sawaal-jawaab
- What is MAHAUL?
- MAHAUL (माहौल) is a free website that drops you into an Indian place where music lives, with the music of that place already playing. You pick a place rather than a genre: a monsoon tea stall, the five o'clock bus, a wedding procession at night, a truck on the highway.
- Is it free, and do I need an account?
- It is completely free and there is no account. There is no signup, no login and no paid tier. Open the site and music plays after one tap.
- Why is it organised by place instead of by genre?
- Because in India music memory is location-coded, not genre-coded. Nobody asks for "90s Bollywood dance-pop", they ask for truck wale gaane, bus wale gaane or shaadi DJ wale gaane. The place is the genre.
- Where does the music come from?
- Each mahaul plays a hand-curated YouTube playlist through YouTube's official embedded player, in the running order it was curated in.
- Why is there no search box or playlist builder?
- One rule governs the whole site: the user never thinks. Anything that would make you decide something, including search, libraries, settings and playlists, is deliberately not built.
- Can I use Spotify instead?
- No. A Spotify embed only plays 30-second previews unless the listener is a logged-in Premium user, which would break the premise of walking in on a song already playing.
